The inventor of the first steam engine created something new yet, for today’s standards, inefficient and imperfect. The evolution of the steam engine has lead to very efficient machinery that we have today. Using this analogy, Satoshi Nakamoto invented the steam engine when his team created the first blockchain model, Bitcoin. We are still at the beginning of the era for decentralized technologies, and far away from the era of very efficient mechanics.

Whether Proof of Work consensus algorithm is or isn’t the ultimate answer for all blockchain solutions has been a heated topic in the cryptocurrency communities.

So join us for a debate between these two camps!

On one side, John Lee Quigley (Founder of Adaptive Analysis) and Stevie Zollo (developer with OpenBazaar) will present their arguments why PoW is the only way to go.

On the opposite side, Barton Johnston (CTO of Blockchain Zoo) and Heriyono Sim (Technical Associate at Blockchain Zoo) will present their arguments on why PoW is not the best consensus algorithm for real-life use cases.

We all are eager to hear your perspectives on this hot topic, so come and join our BlockTalk debate!
